Shader Probs


Alright guys just wandering if anyone can help me achieve a shader im after, its not quite as simple as it may look. But if anyone has any ideas such as layered shaders etc. would love to hear em.

  1. This is a bit close to the car shader . It has fresnel reflections ( according to where the camera faces basically ) , & it changes colors from red to orange/yellow where the light hits .

    Unfortunately I haven't used Maya in quite some time , so I'm not sure how to go about it , but I'm sure there are nodes that affect the shader according to camera facing angles & light as well . Specular is a mixture between hot spots & diffuse .

  2. Thanks Aziz I was thinking that some of those colours were coming from the hdr image he is using and I have had some luck using final gather and a hdr using mia material x.

    I tried the car paint shader but its doesn't have the translucency options that I think this needs. I thing you are right about the facing ratio stuff.
